Published in collaboration with the ECMI (European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry).
Featured Collection: Shape, Form, and Patterns in Medicine, Biotechnology and Materials Science
This special issue is devoted to the mathematical modeling, simulation and analysis of data, shape and form in problems of Biology, Medicine and Materials Science. Among others, the volume gathers contributions presented at the ECMI International Conference held online in April 13-15 2021, and in the minisymposium organized by the Special Interest Group "Shape and Size in Medicine, Biotechnology and Materials Science".
We were honored to have Luis L. Bonilla, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Jesús Angulo, Mines Paristech-PSL Research University, and François Willo, Mines Paristech-PSL Research University as guest editors.
Now Accepting: Survey Papers
The Journal of Mathematical Industry now welcomes insightful, high-quality survey articles of moderate length—between 10-15 pages—that will attract wide interest to a board readership. With these papers, the journal aims to introduce new mathematical methodologies useful for solving industrial problems to both academic researchers and practitioners.

Aims and scope
The Journal of Mathematics in Industry, the official journal of the European Consortium of Mathematics in Industry, is a high-quality journal that brings together research on developments in mathematics for industrial applications, including both methods and the computational challenges they entail. Here, industry is understood as any activity of economic and/or social value. As such, "mathematics in industry" concerns the field as it actually improves industrial processes and helps to master the major challenges presented by cost and ecological issues.
By publishing high-quality, innovative articles, it serves as an essential resource for academic researchers and practitioners alike. At the same time, it provides a common platform for scholars interested in precisely those types of mathematics needed in concrete industrial applications, and articles focusing on the interaction of academia and industry are preferred. In terms of theory, the journal seeks articles with demonstrable mathematical developments motivated by problems of modern industry. With regard to computational aspects, it publishes works introducing new methods and algorithms that represent significant improvements on the existing state of the art of modern numerical and simulations methods.
The journal welcomes proposals for special issues on carefully selected topics, reflecting the trends of research and development in the broad area of mathematics in industry. Insightful survey articles introducing the reader at both university and industry to new mathematical methodologies useful for solving industrial problems are welcome.
