A block diagram for a hybrid modeling design pattern consists of computational blocks (Fig. 1a), indicating model components that involve computation, and arrows (Fig. 1b) indicating the flow of data and intermediate computational results. For example, the arrow in Fig. 1c indicates that the result of the computational block \(\mathcal{B}_{1}\) is fed as an input into the computational block \(\mathcal{B}_{2}\)
